CW extends all three of its freshman series

The CW on Monday handed out full season orders to all three of its first-year series — “The Originals,” ‘The Tomorrow People” and “Reign.”

“The Originals” — a spinoff of “The Vampire Diaries” — is the best performer of the group, averaging 2 million viewers for its most recent episode, while “Reign” drew 1.7 million viewers and “Tomorrow People” drew 1.6 million viewers in overnight ratings.

The network said the three shows are seeing 84 percent more digital viewing than its new series last fall — “Arrow,” “Beauty and the Beast” and the canceled “Emily Owens, M.D.”

New dramas “Star-Crossed” and “The 100” are scheduled for midseason.

Season to date, The CW is up 9 percent in total viewers, 10 percent in the adults 18-49 demo and flat among adults 18-34.
