Simon Cowell’s baby mama and her spurned spouse engaged in a frosty face-off at their Hamptons summer home yesterday — barely speaking to each other as they try to keep up appearances for their 7-year-old son, sources told The Post.
Cuckolded Manhattan real-estate developer Andrew Silverman — who friends said was blindsided by his wife Lauren’s affair with the “X Factor” mogul — showed up at the rented Hamptons manse Thursday evening and spent the night, a source said.
“Andrew stayed at the house to create some normalcy for their son,” the source said. “There was no talk about the divorce settlement. That is being handled by the lawyers. There was minimal conversation between them,” said the source. “It was done purely for their child.”
Andrew left the house at about 9 a.m. yesterday, wearing a baseball cap. Dodging reporters, he sped off in his gray Mercedes.
A while later, Lauren, who has been proudly displaying her baby bump as she runs errands on the East End, left with the couple’s son, Adam, and a nanny to shop at a Citarella market.
Lauren’s sudden nonstop attention to the boy — whom the Silvermans left for days at a time while they jetted off to London and the Caribbean with Cowell and his coterie — has some friends amused. “She is desperately trying to present herself as a doting mother and to use her child in photos to show she is not the absentee mother she appears to be,” scoffed one.
Late yesterday afternoon, a frazzled Andrew returned to the home again and asked for privacy. At his front door a few minutes later, he said, “This is a very difficult time. Please keep your distance.”
Earlier in the day, police were called to the residence, but left.
While the Silvermans’ relationship remains chilly at best, a family friend said Lauren — who has a $3 million to $4 million prenup — is eager to clean up the messy love triangle.
Andrew, who took the unusual step of naming Cowell a co-respondent in divorce papers last month, also wants a speedy split if he and his wandering wife can come to an agreement over custody of Adam, a source said.
Cowell has yet to publicly step into the fray, but a source said the star also wants a quick resolution. “Simon wants this resolved. Ultimately, it’s his problem,” the source said.
But another source said things could drag out if Lauren doesn’t get her agreed-upon prenup.
Another noted, “Lauren is terrified that she’ll lose the baby.”
“What happens if she miscarries and Simon owes her nothing? If she has no prenup [payout] then she is left with nothing.”
Friends of Lauren told The Post that she has said she began bedding the star as early as 2011, when Cowell was still engaged to Mezhgan Hussainy.
As Lauren and Andrew duked it out in New York Thursday, Cowell was in Los Angeles, welcoming Hussainy, who still works as his makeup artist, into his Los Angeles home.
The baby drama has thrown Cowell’s harem — all of whom have vacationed and partied with Lauren — for a loop, according to London’s Daily Mail.
“The other girls can’t believe she is the one who has [his baby],” a source told the paper.
