What time is it in his neck of the woods?
For the first time in 39 years, folksy weather guru Al Roker, who is up most days before the rooster crows, missed an early-morning talk-show slot today — because he overslept.
Roker, who hosts “Wake Up With Al” at 6 a.m. on the Weather Channel before hustling to NBC for his “Today Show” gig, said his phone alarm just didn’t go off and that he did not have a backup alarm because he’s never needed one.
“After 39 years, it happened,” Roker, 58, tweeted. “I overslept and missed a [Weather Channel] show.”
After 39 years, it happened. I overslept and missed a show. Missed #WUWA. But will be on time for @today

He made it in for “Today,” where he was spotted yawning behind the scenes as his colleagues ribbed him unmercifully about his extra ZZZZs.
“I tweeted out Rip Van Roker,” said “Today” host Matt Lauer, “and I’m getting a lot of tweets back saying a lot of people though it was RIP Al Roker. Read carefully!”

“Did you miss ‘Wake Up With Al’ this morning?” Lauer asked Roker.
“Yeah, we changed the name to ‘Al, Wake Up!'” quipped Roker, whose weather catch phrase is: “Here’s what’s happening in your neck of the woods.”
Roker, ironically, teased “Today” guest host Mel B for being late just last week. He compared the former Spice Girl to former “Today” co-host Katie Couric, who was sometimes called out for arriving late to the show.
