This one really did get away.

A sport-fishing boat lists dangerously while tangling with a behemoth black marlin off Panama — shortly before capsizing completely.

The captain and guests of the West Coast Fishing Club vessel went for an unscheduled swim Thursday after the boat hooked the 600-pounder and was thrown off balance.

A company spokeswoman said the boat was “backing down” on the fish — or reversing to reel in line — when a wave overtook the stern, causing the captain to slip and accidentally hit the throttle into full reverse.

The rapid movement swamped the yacht and sank it.

A guest on an accompanying sister vessel captured the epic struggle on camera.

The crew from the second boat rushed into action and pulled the other guests and crew out of the water.

The black marlin has a reputation for being among the most difficult fish to catch.
