What Brawley owes the public

The Issue: Tawana Brawley, who owes thousands to Steve Pagones, after falsely accusing him of rape.

I applaud Steve Pagones in his pursuit of justice (“Tawana Brawley: Victim,” Editorial, Feb. 1).

People who criticize him are clueless. Tawana Brawley, Al Sharpton and his minions destroyed many lives and almost burned this state down. Racial tensions were as high as they were in the ’60s.

Federal, state and city resources were abused by these criminals. Today, Sharpton lives large on the coattails of the Brawley case. If anything, she should be punished for giving us Sharpton.

The whole country was gripped by this hoax. Brawley has to be held responsible.

I hope Pagones goes after every cent that’s due to him, even if she does confess.

She has to be punished, and only then can New York close the book on this ugly chapter.

Kudos to The Post for tracking her down.
