Hopeful $ign in Baghdad

BAGHDAD — An Iraqi telecom firm raised nearly $1.3 billion on the low-volume Iraq Stock Exchange yesterday, and nearly two-thirds came from foreign buyers — a sign of investor confidence despite the violence plaguing the country.

Meanwhile, several suicide bombers on foot and in two cars attacked a provincial police headquarters in northern Iraq, killing at least 15 people and wounding 90, officials said.
