Shift against gay-bullying

CHICAGO — It does get better with time, but when it comes to bullying, young gay men have it worse than their lesbian peers, says a seven-year study of more than 4,000 British teens.

And the same results would likely be found in the US, said psychologist and study co-author Ian Rivers.

In both, he noted, there was a “sea change” in the cultural acceptance of gays and growing intolerance for bullying during the study, which ended in 2010.
