Barclays exits

Barclays said its finance director Chris Lucas and Group General Counsel Mark Harding are to retire. Lucas is being investigated by UK authorities regarding a capital injection by Qatar in 2008. Both Lucas and Harding will remain in their roles until their successors have been found and an appropriate handover completed. Sky News, owned by News Corp., as is The Post, first reported Lucas would leave.

Tomato peace

The Commerce Department and Mexican producers signed a draft agreement to prevent imports of fresh or chilled tomatoes from Mexico from being sold in the US below production costs.

El Al soars

El Al Israel Airlines advanced the most in a decade after the carrier said private-equity fund Fimi is in talks to pay a premium of as much as 36 percent for a 42 percent stake in the airline.

MF Global

Former customers of Jon Corzine’s collapsed brokerage MF Global would recover most, and probably all, of their money under the latest projections by the trustee liquidating its bankrupt parent company.
