The city is planning to hike the rates at several municipal parking garages by as much as 233 percent this summer — including in areas hard hit by Hurricane Sandy.
Rates at a Far Rockaway lot will go from $30 every three months to $100. Rates at lots in New Dorp and Great Kills will jump from $60 to $150 quarterly.
The Department of Transportation’s plans were revealed at a City Council hearing, at which Councilman James Vacca blasted the DOT: “Think about the small businesses.”
