Big bucks in the ‘lobby’

The recession is officially over for city lobbyists.

Records released yesterday by the City Clerk’s Office showed lobbyists pulled in a record $62 million last year, compared with $53.2 million in 2011.

Their previous best year was 2008, before the economic collapse, when clients shelled out $61 million to influence government.

As in past years, the top biller was Suri Kasirer, whose clients coughed up $6 million. James Capalino came in second at $3.3 million. In third place, with $2.5 million, was the firm Constantinople & Vallone, where former City Council Speaker Peter Vallone Sr. is a partner.
