Running back bolts NFL combine because ‘God told’ him to

If Adam Muema goes undrafted, he could always blame the advice he got from upstairs.

The San Diego State running back, a projected late-round selection in the NFL draft, skipped NFL combine workouts despite flying to Indianapolis because he was “following God,” the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

Rather than work out for NFL scouts on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium, Muema said he caught a flight home because God told him it would ensure he landed with his dream team, the Seattle Seahawks. Perhaps God felt he wasn’t going to run his fastest times.

“Can’t go wrong with God,” he said. “[God] told me to sit down, be quiet, and enjoy the peace,” Muema said.

Muema, a California native who ran for 2,702 yards and 31 touchdowns the past two seasons for the Aztecs, can work out in front of scouts at San Diego State pro day in March. Hopefully, he gets approval by then.
