Manhattan falls to Fairfield; Seton Hall beats Georgetown

Maurice Barrow scored 18 points and Marcus Gilbert added 17 as Fairfield held off a second-half surge by Manhattan to win 71-67, in Bridgeport, Conn.

Manhattan (13-4, 6-2) jumped to a 5-0 lead on a trey by Rashawn Stores, but Fairfield (4-14, 1-7) took control on a layup by Barrow and never trailed again.

Back-to-back layups by Manhattan’s Michael Alvarado (20 points) cut the lead to two with 4 seconds to play, but Barrow hit two free throws to ensure the win.

Seton Hall 67, Georgetown 57

In Washington, Fuquan Edwin scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half, and Seton Hall (11-7, 2-3 Big East) rallied from a 10-point, second-half deficit to beat Georgetown (11-6, 3-3).

St. Louis 70, Fordham 48

In St. Louis, Dwayne Evans had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Jordair Jett lacked a rebound for his first career double-double, leading No. 24 Saint Louis (17-2, 4-0 Atlantic 10) to rout Fordham (7-10, 0-4).

LIU Brooklyn 62, CCSU, 61

In New Britain, Conn., Gerrell Martin had 13 points, including the go-ahead layup with 39 seconds remaining to lead LIU-Brooklyn (6-11, 1-3 NEC) over Central Connecticut State (4-13, 0-4).

St. Francis 74, Sacred Heart 71

In Brooklyn, Ben Mockford made seven 3-pointers on eight attempts in scoring 23 points and St. Francis (12-7, 3-1 NEC) edged Sacred Heart (4-15, 1-3).

Columbia 71, Cornell 61

In Manhattan, Alex Rosenberg scored 20 points and Grant Mullins had 19 to lead Columbia (12-6, 1-0 Ivy League) over Cornell (1-14, 0-1).

Stony Brook 70, Mass.-Lowell 65

In Stony Brook, Ahmad Walker had 18 points and seven rebounds as the Seawolves (12-6, 4-0 AEC) held off UMass-Lowell (4-12, 3-2).
