MLB: WBC thumb injury sidelines Ramirez

Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez could be sidelined for more than two months or maybe just two weeks because of an injured left thumb. He was hurt diving for a ball while playing third base Tuesday night in the championship game of the World Baseball Classic.

Right-hander Bud Norris will start for the Astros against the Rangers in the March 31 season opener. The Astros will host Texas in the nationally televised game, their first game as members of the American League.
