Vegas and bracket makers disagree on NCAA favorites

Aside from overall top seed Florida, the Las Vegas oddsmakers don’t agree with the NCAA Tournament seeding committee, either.

After the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino installed Florida as a 4-1 favorite to cut down the nets in Dallas, Michigan State is next at 9-2 to win the title.

Not No. 1 seeds Arizona, Virginia or Wichita State — the Spartans, the fourth seed in the East region who were decimated by injuries of late but have come together and won the Big Ten Tournament crown. Up next is Arizona, the one-seed in the West, at 6-1, followed by Kansas, seeded second in the South, at 8-1.

Wichita State, the first team to enter the tournament undefeated since UNLV in 1990-91, faces 15-1 odds to win it all — not overly surprising considering the one-seed in the Midwest faces a bear of a region that includes Big Ten regular season champion Michigan as the two-seed, Duke as the three and defending champion Louisville as the four.

Louisville, Duke, Virginia and Syracuse come in at 15-1. Michigan, which was thought to be in line to be the one-seed in the East before losing to Michigan State in the Big Ten final on Sunday, is a surprising 25-1.
