Baby abandoned in stroller in Harlem

An abandoned infant was discovered by a good Samaritan in a Harlem park on a chilly Sunday night, cops said.

Michael Allen, 52, was looking out his apartment window on West 143rd Street near Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard when he spotted the 6-9-month-old baby boy bundled up in his stroller across the street inside of Renaissance playground around 9 p.m.

“I was looking out my window and I happened to see a little child in a stroller, I couldn’t believe what I saw,” Allen said. “I ran downstairs and take a look and there was a little boy.”

While Allen’s neighbor called 911, he flagged down firefighters returning to the Engine 69-Ladder 28 firehouse across the street from the park.

“I ran over and told them, ‘there’s a baby in the Park!’’ said Allen, who also works as a volunteer in renaissance playground.

The firemen took the baby inside and handed him over to EMS who transferred the infant to Harlem Hospital in good condition, authorities said.

According to Allen, the baby was dressed appropriately and the stroller was still stocked with formula.

“He looked warm, he had on a sheepskin hat,” said Allen. “He just kept staring.”

Cops are currently investigating the incident.
