Cops are looking for a gang of teen thugs who roughed up students in five separate incidents near Columbia University over the weekend, officials said.
The bad guys attacked their student victims while walking up Amsterdam Avenue between 113th and 122nd streets Saturday after midnight, typically targeting young men walking alone and punching them in the face.
Students were warned by e-mail about the attacks, said Jim McShane, assistant vice president of public safety.
“To hear something like that makes you want to take off your iPod and pay more attention,” said Elsbeth Loughery, a 25-year-old grad student.
