AMERICA’S BLINDNESS TO THREATS FROM ABROAD

Ralph Peters is correct (“America the Weak,” PostOpinion, Oct. 20).

Barack Obama voters have no idea what they’re getting. They’re too busy watching “American Idol” instead of reading history and current events.

It’s important to be grateful for what you have. I’m grateful for having lived my first 58 years in the former USA; now I will have to face the challenges associated with living in the USSA.

Thank you, Colin Powell, mainstream media and ACORN.

We live in a world filled with physical violence – not only outside our borders, but also within. “America the Weak” extrapolates some of the vital interests at stake for our next president.

Obama does not have the capabilities to keep his eye on the ball. Real leaders do not lead through consensus.

Obama will soon find out that one policy foul-up will turn his supporters into his detractors. And, as we saw in the third debate, Obama does badly on defense.

If Obama couldn’t be an instrument for reduced violence in his own state, what real hope do the newly democratic states of the world have?

Peters employs scare tactics to make a point that is completely unsupported by facts.

Peters says that America will become weaker if Obama is elected, but fails to acknowledge that it is precisely the failed policies of the past eight years under President Bush that have led our country into our current downward spiral.

All the people who have lost their jobs and homes have Obama to blame, right?

While our brave soldiers have fought with honor, the truth is that our leaders led us to believe that the engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan would be over in a very short amount of time, and all of our leaders were wrong.

The only way that our battles in Afghanistan and Iraq will be true successes is for both societies to be free and democratic without a US military presence, and that will never happen.

The truth hurts.

Ralph is on this subject like a spotlight. I am pretty much reduced to prayers, but fear most for our Navy son who is headed for the USS Freedom 1.

Gen. David Petraeus is a victim of his own success, and Americans do not recognize the extraordinary value of their safety over the last seven years.

All you need to know is that terrorist organizations and countries that hate us want an Obama presidency.

Wake up, America, before it’s too late.
