‘GOSSIP GIRL’ SPOTTED AT HOSPITAL

“Gossip Girl” Taylor Momsen is expected to return to the show in a few days after beating a “potentially life-threatening throat infection,” according to her doctor.

Momsen, 15, “is expected to make a full recovery in the next three-to-five days,” her physician, Dr. Shawn Nasseri, told UsWeekly.com.

The actress, who’s now resting at home and taking antibiotics, was hospitalized Sunday in LA “for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection,” according to Nasseri–though just what that infection constituted remains a mystery.

An abscess on the tonsils or an infection of the epiglottis can cause dangerous swelling of the throat.

Nasseri, citing doctor-patient confidentiality, told The Post he couldn’t comment on the specific nature of Momsen’s infection.

“She was an excellent, cooperative patient,” Nasseri told The Post. “Not every one of my teenagers are.”

He said these types of infections “are not uncommon” in teenagers.

Momsen plays Jenny “Little J.” Humphrey on The CW series.
