‘THANKS JOE’

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Sarah Palin mocked Joe Biden today for telling voters that America’s enemies will immediately test Barack Obama if he’s elected president.

“He guaranteed that if Barack Obama is elected, we’ll face an international crisis within the first six months of their administration,” she said.

“He told Democrat donors to mark his words – that there were ‘at least four or five scenarios’ that would place our country at risk in an Obama administration,” Palin said on the stump in Reno, Nev.

“I guess we gotta say, ‘Well, thanks for the warning, Joe!’ ”

Palin said foreign dictators and terrorists will be less inclined to challenge John McCain.

She blasted Obama’s positions on negotiating with Iran, the Iraq war, the Russian invasion of Georgia and invading Pakistan without the support of the government.

“But I guess the looming crisis that most worries the Obama campaign right now is Joe Biden’s next speaking engagement. Let’s call that crisis scenario number five,” she quipped.

Palin’s biting comments come a day after McCain pounced on Biden’s remarks to paint Obama as not ready to be commander-in-chief.

He repeated those concerns while stumping through Pennsylvania.

McCain said ready to be commander-in-chief, noting his service during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, in which the United States stared down the Soviets.

“I was on board the USS Enterprise. I sat in the cockpit . . . I had a target. My friends, you know how close we came to nuclear war,” he said to cheers at a rally in Harrisburg.

“America will not have a president who needs to be tested. I’ve been tested.”

The Obama-Biden campaign defended the Democratic veep’s remarks.

“With our nation facing two wars and 21st century threats abroad, Sen. Biden referenced the simple fact that history shows presidents face challenges from day one,” said spokesman David Wade.

“After eight years of a failed foreign policy, we need Barack Obama’s good judgment and steady leadership – not the erratic and ideological Bush-McCain approach that has set back our security and standing in the world.”
