GOP TURNCOAT SCOTT: I’M FOR O

He’s already penned a book that trashed his old boss, President Bush, and now Scott McClellan is taking aim at John McCain.

The former White House spokesman said last night he’s voting for Barack Obama.

“From the very beginning, I have said I am going to support the candidate that has the best chance for changing the way Washington works and getting things done, and I will be voting for Barack Obama and clapping,” McClellan told CNN’s newest host, comedian DL Hughley.

McClellan follows in the footsteps of former Bush Secretary of State Colin Powell, who last Sunday endorsed Obama. Ex-Bush strategist Matt Dowd last year gave a vote of confidence to the Illinois senator. McClellan will explain his endorsement tonight on “Larry King Live.”

The former presidential flack surprised Washington earlier this year with his tell-all tome, “What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception.”

In it, he outlined what he called a string of lies leading up to the US invasion of Iraq.

McClellan, 40, was press secretary from 2003 to 2006. His resignation was initially viewed as amicable, but he soon became a critic of the administration.
