HEISMAN WATCH

TIM TEBOW

QB, Florida

LENN ROBBINS: He’s not going to match the numbers from last season, but his leadership is fantastic. His vow after Ole Miss that no player will work harder to make it right was exactly what you want.

TIM SULLIVAN: The champ will not go down easily . . . on the field or in this race. Tebow, as complete a QB as ever, clearly doesn’t care about numbers. He’s playing with a passion and a determination that reminds us of another former UF QB and Heisman

winner, Danny Wuerffel. He won a national title as a starter, perhaps it’s Tebow’s turn.

KNOWSHON MORENO

RB, Georgia

LENN ROBBINS: Moreno took a hit in the loss to ‘Bama. But a healthy Moreno busted up LSU and now he’s poised to bust up UF, a team he gouged for 188 yards last year. Despite a line that is so young razors are optional, Moreno has never used that as an excuse.

TIM SULLIVAN: Jersey’s finest back, with apologies to UConn’s Donald Brown, revisits the site of his coming-out party: Jacksonville. Moreno made a strong push last week, but today, this is a different animal, Gators to be precise.

GRAHAM HARRELL

QB, Texas Tech

LENN ROBBINS: Proud to say I haven’t the vaguest idea how a QB’s efficiency rating is calculated, so it means nothing to me that Harrell is sixth, behind Tulsa’s David Johnson. Here’s what matters. He has thrown 160 more passes than Johnson and has three fewer picks.

TIM SULLIVAN: Leery of a system QB who almost lost to Nebraska and struggled putting Texas A&M away. The numbers are phenomenal, make no mistake. But ask yourself this: Do you honestly believe a Red Raider is going to win the Heisman?
