You’re hired – no wait, fired!
The teachers union is fighting to protect the jobs of more than 100 teachers who were brought into the school system just months ago as part of a selective recruitment program.
About 120 teaching fellows – a majority of whom changed careers or moved from other cities in order to teach in New York’s public schools – are set to be canned on Dec. 5 after being recruited in June, because they’ve yet to find permanent slots.
