A recorded murder confession that freed a Queens man who spent 14 years behind bars has been exposed as a fake.
The District Attorney is now asking Supreme Court Justice Joel Blumenfeld – who vacated the conviction – to put Kareen Bellamy back in jail.
Bellamy, 41, who was locked up for fatally stabbing James Abbott, was released in August.
Michael Green, a police informant who made the recording and testified he was speaking to the real killer, has recanted.
Green said he paid another man to play along – and fed him lines.
The prosecutor also alleges a defense team investigator perjured himself on the stand.
“I’m a nervous wreck,” Bellamy said. “I don’t know what’s going to happen next.”
