Mayor Bloomberg’s drive to get New Yorkers to bike to work will gear up today when city planners unveil a proposal requiring all new office and apartment buildings to include indoor bicycle-parking spaces for residents and workers.
The requirement would apply to all new construction, mandating that apartment buildings provide at least one indoor bike-parking space for every two units. Office towers would have to create one bike spot for every 7,500 square feet of space in the building.
