POLL: NYERS WANT ‘SEN. CUOMO’

ALBANY – Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is the first choice of voters to replace Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if the former first lady is named secretary of state by President-elect Obama, a new poll yesterday showed.

The Marist College survey found 43 percent of voters wanted Gov. Paterson to name former federal Housing Secretary Cuomo to replace Clinton.

Democratic Reps. Nydia Velazquez of Brooklyn and Nita Lowey of Westchester were backed by just 5 percent of voters each.
