REESE IS THE WORD AT MOVIES

When Americans weren’t at the mall over the long weekend, they were at the movies – ticket sales were up 4 percent over last year, led by the comedy “Four Christmases.”

The film, starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon, tells the story of a couple forced to share the holiday with all four of their divorced parents. It scored $31.7 million, topping the weekend box office, despite lukewarm reviews.

The Post’s Kyle Smith, who awarded it a half-star, said, “The movie boasts five Oscar-winners. That figure exceeds by five the number of times I laughed.”

“Bolt,” the animated Disney film voiced by John Travolta and Miley Cyrus, edged out “Twilight,” the teen vampire tale, for second, $26.6 million to $26.4 million. “Twilight” had ranked No. 1 last week but took a steep 62 percent tumble. Neil Graves
