BLOND JUSTICE

A busty blond model who has graced the covers of dozens of romance novels created real-life melodrama at her soon-to-be ex-husband’s fraud trial when she got into a catfight with his new girlfriend and allegedly threatened to cause a ruckus in the courtroom.

Brooklyn federal Judge Frederic Block has ordered extra security to monitor the comings and goings of Cindy Guyer, 47, for the duration of hubby Andrew Catapano’s monthlong trial in response to her less-than-model behavior, court records show.

The drama started when Guyer came to see Catapano, 51, in court last Monday and found his elegantly dressed, brunette girlfriend sitting in the front row of the spectator seats.

Growing increasingly emotional, Guyer flashed her wedding ring at Catapano – who’s divorcing her after a two-year marriage – and entered the well of the courtroom during a break in an attempt to confront him, according to people familiar with the case.

The clash turned downright ugly in a courthouse hallway when Guyer allegedly lunged at the girlfriend, pulled her hair and shouted, “Tramp!”

Defense lawyers reported the melee to the judge out of earshot of the jury, court records show.

“The wife physically assaulted the girlfriend in the hallway,” said attorney Gerald Shargel, who represents Catapano’s former business partner. “She said she’s going to cause a disruption in front of the jury. That obviously is intolerable.”

Block told the lawyers, “I think that under the circumstances . . . we should have a marshal here sitting next to her, and if there’s any outburst on her part, we’ll have to immediately take her out of the courtroom.”

Catapano is charged with bribing union officials and a Con Edison employee in a multimillion-dollar scam to cut costs for his Glendale-based company, AFC, and could face 10 years behind bars if convicted.

Defense attorney Diarmuid White declined comment on the soap-opera-like commotion.

The girlfriend has steered clear of the trial since the brawl.

Beyond posing for the covers of romance novels, Guyer was a producer of the 2005 TV game show/reality series “Mr. Romance” and had bit parts in a number of movies in the 1990s.
