MORONIC ‘THUGS’ SO DUMB, IT’S CRIMINAL

Two dumber-than-dumb denizens of The Bronx tried to flag down what they thought was a livery cab after robbing an old lady – only to find it was full of cops, authorities said. And when the officers asked the moronic muggers for ID, one of them pulled out the 70-year-old victim’s wallet, cops said.

When the creep realized what he had done, police said, he absurdly blurted out, “I just found this!”

As this was happening, the elderly woman was being carried to an ambulance. She saw her alleged attackers and identified them on the spot, police said.

The drama unfolded at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Baychester Houses.

The victim had just walked into a building to visit a relative, and the duo allegedly followed her into an elevator.

When the elevator stopped on her floor, the suspects followed her out. They allegedly grabbed her, threw her to the ground, and kicked her.

Neighbors called 911.

The clueless wonders were running out of the building – one of them with the woman’s wallet in his pocket – when they saw a light-blue Ford Crown Victoria, a car often used as a taxi.

Thinking that it was a livery cab, they tried to flag it down. But it turned out to be an unmarked police car carrying anti-crime Sgt. Michael Milmore and Officers Robert Roda and Daniel Beddows, who were responding to the 911 call.

In a New York minute, Antoine Mitchell, 21, and Michael Jordan, 21, were in cuffs, charged with robbery and assault. Mitchell was hit with a third charge of attempted escape when he allegedly tried to get away.

The woman suffered a dislocated shoulder.
