RYAN ‘STOLE’ IDEA FOR ‘MOMMA’ SHOW: TURK TV

THE creator of a wildly-popu lar Turkish reality TV show is trying to block tonight’s premiere of “Momma’s Boys,” [Review Here] claiming it’s a rip-off.

In court papers filed yesterday in Manhattan federal court, Luftu Murat Uckardesler says NBC Universal and Ryan Seacreast Productions “willfully appropriated” the format of their program from his “Perfect Bride.”

That show debuted in 2004 in Turkey, where it shattered ratings records by drawing an “unprecedented” 72 percent share of the viewing audience, according to the suit.

Lawyer Evans Anyanwu said he would argue at a court hearing this morning that “Momma’s Boys” – which follows three bachelors and their moms as they weigh the merits of 32 would-be brides – should be barred from the airwaves for copyright and trademark infringement.

“It’s like me having a talent show and saying: We’re going to pick the next ‘American Idol,’ ” Anyawu said.

NBC said it hasn’t yet seen the suit, but “is familiar with the plaintiffs’ allegations, which are entirely without merit.”

Ryan Seacrest Productions didn’t respond to a request for comment.
