MAN ROBS BROOKLYN SUBWAY STATION BOOTH

A Brooklyn subway station agent was robbed early this morning by a sticky-fingered sneak who crept into his booth and grabbed a handful of cash, police said.

The unnamed MTA agent was returning to an empty Grant Avenue station along the A line in East New York after a food break at 3:43 a.m. when a black man in his 40s quietly followed him, cops said.

The unarmed thief sneaked into the booth behind the agent, quickly grabbed an unknown amount of MTA money and fled.

The agent was not injured, and there was no struggle. The crook did not use force to get into the booth, cops said.

Station agents still handle money and sell MetroCards, though a spokesman said they “don’t have as much money as before” the creation of MetroCard vending machines.

The MTA spokesman said there were cameras on the platform, but it was unclear whether the robbery was caught on tape.
