The partner of slain cop Russel Timoshenko said yesterday he’s still racked with guilt for surviving the shooting, then watched as one of the men who beat a murder rap was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
“I have survivors’ guilt,” said Herman Yan, who took a bullet in the arm in the early morning hours of July 7, 2007, as he and Timoshenko approached a stolen BMW they’d pulled over in Crown Heights.
Robert Ellis, who a jury found not guilty of murder and attempted murder, was slapped with the maximum three 15-year terms for weapons charges – but he’ll serve them consecutively.
