FROZEN APPLE IS IN SIBER-SPACE

New York City is in a Siberian freeze.

Last night’s temperatures plummeted to 5 degrees – icier than those recorded in typically frozen cities such as Anchorage, Moscow and even the Siberian town of Irkutsk.

And forecasters warned that it’s going to get worse before it gets better – tonight, it’ll be 2 degrees.

“Right now, the core of the coldest air is over eastern Canada,” said AccuWeather forecaster John Feerick. “We are in one of the coldest spots in the Northern Hemisphere.”

The so-called “high” today will be 11 degrees before it plunges tonight.

Forecasters say that the windchill temperature will range from minus 3 to minus 10.

The City Office of Emergency Management is urging caution. Anybody who goes outside should wear layered clothing, not over-exert themselves, and get indoors as quickly as possible, a spokesman said.

The big freeze is expected to start thawing tomorrow, with a “balmy” 25 degrees predicted.
