SHOT DOGS IN GUN NUT’S APT

A gun fanatic who turned his Queens basement into a shooting range – and who may have conducted gruesome ballistics experiments on dogs – faces 20 years or more in jail after being convicted in Manhattan yesterday of 25 counts of weapons possession.

Suwei Chuang, 37, scion of a Flushing-based real-estate family, was caught in January 2007 near the Brooklyn Bridge overpass in Manhattan with a small arsenal in his Toyota SUV.

A search of his apartment on 40th Road in Flushing uncovered a basement stocked with seven rifles, bullet-proof vests and almost 30,000 rounds of ammo. Three dog carcasses were also in the basement – their bodies shot, bludgeoned and slashed, authorities say.

Chuang’s girlfriend – a $1,000-an-hour Bulgarian-born call girl – spent three days on the witness stand describing how he threatened her with guns.

He is scheduled for sentencing Feb. 24.
