NEW TAX SLAP FOR CIPRIANIS

The taxman is chasing the Ciprianis – again!

The state Department of Taxation and Finance slapped the restaurant empire with a new warrant Monday for failure to pay $951,706.

“They didn’t pay all or part of what they owed in corporate taxes in 2005 and 2006,” department spokesman Tom Bergin said.

It comes on top of a $3.6 million lien hanging over Giuseppe Cipriani and his father, Arrigo, for taxes owed in 2004, Bergin said.

In a statement to The Post, the Ciprianis called the warrant “standard operating procedure” and insisted they were cooperating.
