Fitness junkies put a new spin on birthday parties

To celebrate her 40th in December, Upper East Side mom of four Tara Lipton found herself on the instructor’s platform at her favorite cycling studio.

Lena Dunham sweated it out on her birthday.

Lipton and her pal, Eleanor Heyman Propp, who turned 39 six days later, co-hosted a 75-person bash at SoulCycle on Third Avenue complete with custom T-shirts and food catered by Mexican restaurant Toloache.

“We wanted to do something special, and we love it there. Plus, all of our friends go there, too,” says Lipton.

The birthday workout cost the duo about $5,000 total.

SoulCycle, which has 25 locations nationally, hosts two to three birthday parties a week.

In January, Oprah Winfrey hosted a 60th birthday sweatfest at the West Hollywood location.

In 2012, “Girls” star Lena Dunham celebrated her 26th birthday at an NYC SoulCycle, where she donned a tiara for her ride.

Apparently, there’s no place devotees would rather be — even when it’s time to blow out the candles.

Lipton says she was happy to suck down wheatgrass juice rather than champagne on the big 4-0.

“It was such an empowering feeling — you feel healthy, you feel good!”
