DRUG-SEX COP IN PLEA DEAL

A Brooklyn narcotics cop who allegedly had sex with an informant and paid her for tips using seized drugs entered a secret guilty plea in a sealed courtroom yesterday, sources said.

Jerry Bowens, 42, is charged with official misconduct, filing false documents and drug possession and sale.

Bowens was snared when he swiped drugs from an undercover Internal Affairs cop posing as a drug courier in 2007.

Sources said Bowens then helped cops nab Michael Arenella, a sergeant, by getting him to admit involvement in the case during a telephone call, which authorities recorded.

Arenella’s lawyer, Andrew Quinn, said yesterday’s closed-courtroom plea deal meant his client would see Bowens on the witness stand against him at trial, scheduled for next month.

“There’s no question in my mind that Bowens has cut a deal with the DA’s office to implicate my client,” said Quinn. “No question in my mind. To protect himself and save himself, he’s falsely implicated a police sergeant.”
