THRILLS & CHILLS AT CITY ‘BOARD’ GAMES

We’re heading down a slippery slope – and, dude, it’s gnarly!

More than 2,000 people braved icy temps yesterday for a rare Manhattan spectacle – world-class snowboarders speeding down a 90-foot-tall ramp next to the FDR Drive, then doing flips in the air.

Sixteen of the biggest names in the sport, including J.J. Thomas (above), were competing for a total of $100,000 in prizes at the ramp in East River Park at Houston Street.

Peter Conlan, 9, said he, his FDNY firefighter dad, also Peter, and two siblings spent most of their time watching Olympic gold medalist Shaun White practice before the competition.

“Shaun White is my idol,” the youngster said. “I love snowboarding, and I want to be just like him.”

Kristen Donohue of Hoboken called the event “pretty awesome,” adding, “It’s not something you ever see in New York.”
