Madison Square Garden will be ruffing it as the 133rd annual Westminster Dog Show gets under way today.
Of course, everyone believes they’ve got a winner at the end of the leash.
Doug Johnson, 56, of Colorado Springs, has Georgie Girl, an Old English sheepdog. “She’s a runway model,” Johnson said.
Nancy Lievs, 60, Houston, has Slewie, a white, dreadlocked komondor.
“We know the judge likes him,” she said.
Several breeders said the recession isn’t giving them much paws for concern.
“When you’re paying $5,000 for a dog, you aren’t letting the economy affect you,” said David Rich, 58, from Colorado.
