The City Council will consider today whether to ban putting any more artificial turf in the city’s parks.
This follows tests at Thomas Jefferson Park in Harlem that showed lead levels in the artificial turf were a health risk.
Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe yesterday said work would begin this week on replacing the turf in the Harlem park.
