SNAKE’S A CHARMER

A 4-foot boa constrictor that slithered into a Brooklyn apartment and terrified a birthday boy and his pal turned out to be a real charmer.

The young reptile was found in a sofa, had a cold and was seeking a warm place to hide.

“She is a very sweet snake,” said Sean Casey, who took care of the baby boa at his animal rescue shelter in Brooklyn yesterday.

“The kids of one of my co-workers were holding her, and she was very good with them. They nicknamed her Sophie because she came from a sofa.”

Sophie emerged from a half-zipped cushion Tuesday and scared the wits out of Jay Jhomar, who had just turned 7, and his friend Danny Yunstella, also 7.

Jays mother, Danielle, said the snake probably got in through an open window at the Bensonhurst house. No one has claimed ownership of the snake, which is illegal to keep as a pet in New York City.

Sophie will be trucked to AniCare Animal Hospital in Dallastown, Pa., from which she will be offered for adoption.
