REALITY BITES ON RUNWAY

MICHAEL Selditch and Rob Tate’s “Eleven Minutes” is an attempt to extend the proverbial 15 minutes of fame enjoyed by flamboyant fashion designer Jay McCarroll, who won the competition during the first season of “Project Runway.”

This is a far more detailed and less glossy look at the anxious McCarroll and his long-suffering associates as they race to prepare his first clothing line for an 11-minute show at the Fall 2007 Fashion Week.

Though this is the rare documentary that admirably admits recording “reality” on film actually shapes how people behave under the camera’s gaze, I think “Eleven Minutes” is going to appeal mostly to hard-core fashionistas.

Running time: 103 minutes. Not rated (profanity). At the Quad, 13th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
