ANDY RICHTER REJOINING CONAN O’BRIEN

It’s back to the future for Andy Richter.

The former “Late Night” sidekick will rejoin Conan O’Brien as announcer/sidekick on the “Tonight Show,” which O’Brien inherits from Jay Leno June 1.

Richter teamed with O’Brien on NBC’s “Late Night” from 1993 through 2000, when he left (amicably) to chase a career in Hollywood, which resulted in some guest-starring roles, movie work (including “Elf” and “Madagascar”) and two short-lived sitcoms–Fox’s “Andy Richter Controls the Universe” and NBC’s “Andy Barker, P.I.”

Richter was one of O’Brien’s guests on his “Late Night” finale last Friday night.

In addition to his announcing duties on “The Tonight Show,” Richter will also appear in comedy skits–much like he did on “Late Night.”
