DAVE LOSES ANOTHER PLAYER

ALBANY – The shakeup in Gov. Paterson’s troubled administration continued yesterday with the resignation of Dr. Jon Cohen, a $160,500-a-year “senior adviser” whose responsibilities remained a mystery even to some of the governor’s aides.

Paterson said Cohen, the former chief medical officer at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospital, would leave, effective March 27, to become chief medical officer and senior vice president of Quest Diagnostics.

Paterson in recent weeks has dumped secretary and Chief of Staff William Cunningham, Communications Director Risa Heller, chief fund-raiser Cynthia Darrison, Washington-based consultant Judy Smith, and the Global Strategy Group, his main political consulting firm.
