BBC America has ordered its first original comedy series, “Almost Royal,” about two young British aristocrats on their first trip to the United States.
The seven-episode, faux-documentary-style series centers on privileged siblings Georgie and Poppy Carlton, heirs to an estate and distant relatives of the royal family who allow a camera crew to follow them on a tour of the US, where they interact with Americans for the first time.
“Almost Royal” will premiere Saturday, June 21, following the “Orphan Black” Season 2 finale.
