$168M ‘Mega Man’ the toast of The Bronx

He hasn’t discovered Veuve Cliquot — at least not yet.

The Harlem man who won $168 million in the Mega Millions lottery has been knocking back humble brewskis in The Bronx.

Winner Jimmy Groves “came in and said he was a Mega Millions winner,” said Rafael Eduardo, manager of Esmerelda Grocery in Fordham, where his newly flush customer bought a six-pack of Heineken for $9.50 Tuesday night.

“I didn’t believe him, because what would a millionaire be doing coming in here and buying candy and beer?” Eduardo said.

Groves — a 49-year-old Madison Square Garden laborer whose ticket-buying visit was recorded by surveillance cameras — hasn’t been back to work since winning.

“I’m not working anymore in my life!” Groves declared, according to store worker José Cerda. “I won $168 million — it’s mine!”

Still, he insisted he’ll keep hanging out in The Bronx, where he’s been hiding out since winning.

“I got my McDonald’s and White Castle near me,” he explained.

The state Lottery Division has yet to confirm he’s the winner.

Spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman said the agency is waiting for a check-presenting event to be scheduled before declaring the winner’s name.
