Bradford’s return: Sooner or later

Oklahoma’s medical staff yesterday was still taking a look at treatment options for quarterback Sam Bradford, whose right shoulder was injured in Saturday’s 14-13 loss to Brigham Young.

The Heisman Trophy winner’s injury has been called a sprained AC joint. Purdue QB Curtis Painter missed two games last season and played as a reserve three weeks after injuring the joint.

It’s possible Bradford may not return for Saturday’s home opener against Idaho State and games against Tulsa on Sept. 19 and at Miami on Oct. 3.

Redshirt freshman Landry Jones replaced Bradford Saturday night. He guided the Sooners on five drives, netting only one field goal.
