WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989)

Wednesday, 9 p.m., Lifetime

Can a man and woman ever be just friends? That’s the classic conundrum in this hilarious Nora Ephron tale about two friends, Harry (Billy Crystal), and Sally (Meg Ryan) who, since graduating from college, have helped each other cope with failed NYC romances, never knowing that true romance was there all along. Everyone’s terrific — especially Katz’s Deli in this pre-texting love story.

HAROLD AND MAUDE (1971)

Tuesday, 3:45 p.m., TCM

Harold (Bud Cort) is a death-obsessed, depressed 20-year old who attends funerals for fun. At one, he meets 79-year old Maude (Ruth Gordon), an anarchist and wild lady and falls in love with her. He announces he’s going to marry her but she’s got other plans. And you thought you’d seen everything!

THE TRUMAN SHOW (1998)

Wednesday, 10 p.m., TNT

When this movie was made a decade ago we thought it was a far-fetched fantasy, not a fatalistically funny prediction of the future. Jim Carrey plays a man whose perfect existence is destroyed when he finds out his whole life has been a scripted

24/7 reality show with him as the star. Co-starring Ed Harris and Laura Linney.

HIGH FIDELITY (2000)

Saturday, 11:20 a.m., TBS

The hilarious John Cusack plays a 30-something record store owner and obsessive list-maker who, along with his dopey store clerks, numbers his five top breakups and then decides to revisit those women hoping to find out why he’s such a screw up. A terrific, quirky pre-Judd Apatow-type comedy about guys who can’t get it right. With Iben Hjejle, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Todd Louiso, Jack Black and Lisa Bonet.
