It was a birthday bash fit for an “Idol.”
Mean-but-lovable TV tycoon Simon Cowell toasted his 50th birthday with a $1.6 million blowout this weekend that included A-list celebrities, big-name performers and even former girlfriends.
More than 300 pals of the “American Idol” judge converged on Wrotham Park, a sprawling estate outside London in Barnet, Hertfordshire.
If guests somehow forgot whose birthday they were celebrating on Saturday night, they saw plenty of reminders:
* A huge image of Cowell’s smirking face was projected on an outside wall of the mansion.
* Once inside, guests were greeted by waiters wearing masks of the “Idol” judge’s face.
* Even the food was all-Simon, with letters in the chicken noodle soup spelling “Simon” and dinner rolls emblazoned with the letters S, I, M, O and N.
Guests included his “Idol” co-judges Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson, “X Factor” judge Sharon Osbourne, her rocker husband Ozzy, “America’s Got Talent” judge David Hasselhoff, models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, “BGT” judge Amanda Holden, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, musical icon Andrew Lloyd Webber, Aussie singing great Olivia Newton-John and Simon’s mom, Julie Cowell.
Ex-“Idol” judge Paula Abdul was invited but said on Twitter that she was too ill to attend.
Simon was surrounded by women all night, including his reported flame-of-the-moment, makeup artist Mezghan Hussainy, and friendly ex-gal pals Terri Seymour and Jackie St. Claire.
Earth, Wind & Fire performed, and a burlesque dance troupe brought pretty boy Seacrest to the stage, where he was playfully whipped on the backside with a feathered crop.
