WITH only 400 students, this eight-year-old specialized school with a focus on science gives plenty of “personal attention,” according to principal Jie Zhang, who said, “We spend a lot of energy balancing student programs.” Students are exposed to university life on the York College campus, while giving them access to university facilities like the library. High level science courses are offered, from several APs to electives like genetics and robotics. Students won several awards last year, and earned an honorable mention at the Model UN conference.
