Dennis Hopper’s wife wants custody of daughter

LOS ANGELES — Court records show Dennis Hopper’s wife wants full custody of their young daughter as part of their divorce case.

Victoria Hopper filed a response Monday to a divorce petition filed Jan. 14 by Dennis Hopper that cited irreconcilable differences.

The actor is battling prostate cancer.

Victoria Hopper’s papers list the same reason for the breakup and note her husband filed for the divorce the same day as they separated.

The “Easy Rider” actor wants joint custody of the couple’s 6-year-old daughter. He also is asking a judge to award his wife spousal support.

Calls and an e-mail message to Dennis Hopper’s manager Sam Maydew have not been returned.

The Hoppers have been married nearly 14 years.
